Andrew Lawson has told us, that there will be no regular meeting of the Historic Preservation Board, Planning Commission or Retired Citizens Advisory Council in Arkansas City this month. The Beautification and Tree Advisory Board meeting that was scheduled for June 28 was not held due to lack of quorum. It has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. July 5 in the city manager’s office. This will be the board’s only meeting in July. City Hall and other facilities will be closed Wednesday in observance of Independence Day. There will be no sanitation pickup on Wednesday. Things get back to normal on Thursday, when the Cowley County Commission meets at 9am in the Cowley County Courthouse in Winfield.
