For now, an Arkansas City man remains in the Cowley County Jail, after his sentencing that was scheduled for Monday, was rescheduled till next month yesterday, after his attorney objected to sime items in the pre-sentence report. 38 year old Darren Williams pled guilty to charges that resulted in his arrest back in February 2016, involving girls who were minors at the time. Williams faced more than 40 charges, but in July, he pleaded no contest to one count of rape and three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child as part of a plea deal, in which prosecutors agreed to drop the other charges. When Williams is sentenced next month, he could face as much as 653 months in prison.
