Some strong storms with large hail, heavy rain, strong winds and even a few brief tornadoes made for an active weather night last night here in Kansas. Cowley County Emergency Management reported minor damage from a storm that produced a brief tornado early Monday evening. The damage was mainly in the form of four downed power poles, just northwest of Ark City. Don’t let your guard down…. forecasters say another round of storms could be headed to Kansas this week. Most of the state will have chances for strong storms on Wednesday. Some hail and heavy rainfall can be expected Wednesday afternoon and through much of the evening. And even more could be on the way toward the end of the week. One of the most intense thunderstorms in Kansas yesterday, was reported between Wellington and Winfield where reports of up-to-golf-ball-sized hail have been coming in.
