An animal rescue group today, is housing 43 dogs that were found in deplorable conditions on three different properties in Kansas. According to KAKE-TV, Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption says the animals were found near Chetopa without drinkable water, without proper medical attention or shelter, and in freezing temperatures. Police there say the owner surrendered the animals after a new ordinance limited the number of domestic animals that anyone can keep to six. Police say when they were found, the dogs were being kept in what they describe as a hoarding situation. All of the dogs were taken to a shelter, where they all tested positive for heartworms. The dogs are being treated, and now the rescue group says it needs more foster homes to help care for them.
