A new organization, designed to address the needs of some Cowley County residents, has been formed. Angels in the Attic is a new 501c3 nonprofit, that will rely totally on donations from the local community. Services include a food pantry, commodity distribution and assistance with utility payments and medications. Some churches are helping out, and plans down the road, call for a thrift store and programs on such topics as budgeting, cooking, job skill development, and more to be offered. Some upcoming items include a Christmas toy and gift distribution for kids, along with a winter coat distribution. “Angels in the Attic responds to needs within Cowley County, and is run by a local board, with programs that are local and designed to serve local folks.
