A popular Winfield business is shutting down. IYarn is a yarn store in Winfield, that brought in visitors from a wide area. But apparently, not enough visitors…. The shop’s owner Susan Phillips, told the local paper that she’s closing due to a lack of business. IYarn opened in 2008, and since then it has been in several different locations before settling in at its current spot at 915 Main Street. All inventory at the store is now 40 percent off. A group of crafters that meets there every Saturday to work on projects will continue to meet in another location after the store closes. Phillips said she also hopes to find a way to keep Chase The Chill… a project where knitters and crocheters make scarves, hats and other cold weather accessories that are then hung on a tree in front of the store for anyone to take if needed… going after the closure. As for what she will do after the store closes, Phillips just says she will wait and see. There is a lot of inventory to get rid of first, and therefore, there is no firm closing date yet. In the meantime, IYarn is open from 10 to 5 Tuesday through Friday, and 10 to 2 on Saturday.
