Visiting archaeologists will present the findings of this week’s study of Native American artifacts in Arkansas City during a public forum tonight. That forum is set for 7 this evening in the president’s dining room at Cowley College’s McAtee Dining Center. The event is free, and open to the public. Tonight, Wichita State University Professor of Anthropology, Don Blakeslee, along with his team of archaeologists who have been in Arkansas City for the past week, will report on their preliminary findings. Blakeslee hopes to prove his theory that Arkansas City was the site of the ancient American Indian city of Etzanoa, which was first discovered back in 1601, and at that time, had a population of a staggaring 20,000. A high tech mobile archaeological laborator be there tonight, for tours and demonstrations.
