An Arkansas City man who police say fled the state after he shot another man in Ark City earlier this month, is now headed to court. 33 year old Aaron Robert “Big A” Brown is being charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. Brown was booked into the Cowley County Jail on Tuesday, and is being held there in lieu of $500,000 bond. He’s accused of shooting 38 year old Robert Lolar with a handgun multiple times early in the morning on April 19 in Arkansas City.
Lolar remains in Wesley Medical Center in stable condition, but he does not have medical insurance. A fund has been created through an online GoFundMe account to help with his medical expenses since the shooting. Brown was caught in Oklahoma around 3:45am on April 19th. He had a handgun believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, at the time of his arrest. The shooting was the third shooting in which Brown has been involved in the last eight years.
