An Arkansas City man was in court Wednesday morning, where he was sentenced following a plea agreement that was hammered out back in July.
Stevie Barnes who has been in custody under a $53,000 bond since his arrest in March, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal threat and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. According to the plea deal, he was sentenced to 36 months behind bars, and will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years following his eventual release from custody. He will not be eligible for parole, and he will also have to serve another 24 months of supervision after his release from prison. The sentence came down on Barnes after he admitted to having in his possession sexually explicit pictures of a minor child.
