A warning for drivers… watch out for deer on the roads. According to the Kansas Insurance Commission, Kansas is one of the top 20 states for deer/vehicle crashes. Now is considered one of the prime times of the year to possibly hit a deer too. State Farm Insurance tracks national deer crash information, and they say the chance of having a collision with a deer in Kansas is approximately 1 in 130. Nationwide, in just a 12 month period from July 1, 2017, to June 30th of this year, there were 1.33 million deer-related vehicle accidents. State Farm says the national average cost per vehicle claim from a deer-vehicle collision hovers around $4,300.
