Not long after that announcement, David Falletti of Winfield filed to run as a Republican in the 2016 primary race for sheriff. Falletti has a pretty impressive law enforcement pedigree. He is a senior special agent with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. After serving in the United States Army, Falletti began his law enforcement career in with the Riley County Police Department in Manhattan back in 1996. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Upper Iowa University, and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Wichita State University. In his capacity with the KBI Falletti has worked numerous cases involving homicide, officer-involved shootings, child abuse, public corruption and financial crimes. Falletti is also a firearms instructor for Glock Armorer and an adjunct instructor at Cowley College.
