Due to what they cite as the loss of support from their supplier, Anchor Mobile Food Market has announced on their Facebook page, that they are suspending operations for now. The Save-A-Lot store in Winfield supplies the food truck, and the local paper is now speculating that the suspension of service by the mobile food market raised additional questions about the future of Save-A-Lot. The Winfield-based mobile market launched back in May. Since then, it has been making regular stops in parts of Cowley County where residents can shop for groceries without making a trip to a larger town. The mobile market offers produce, meat, dairy and other grocery items. According to the newspaper, the Save-A-Lot grocery store opened in 2016 at Winfield Plaza, and the suspension of support for the mobile market leaves it unclear if the grocery store is in some sort of trouble.
