A man who Arkansas City Police described as homeless is facing drug charges after police say he attempted to conceal evidence. 41 year old Justin Ledbetter is now facing a felony count of burglary of a motor vehicle and two felony counts of interference with the judicial process… plus more charges including suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts each of criminal trespass, and theft of property or services totaling less than $1,000 in value. He was nabbed after police answered a call about a man who was seen walking in and out of garages while carrying a backpack, near the intersection of East Monroe Avenue and South A Street. Police took Ledbetter to South Central Kansas Medical Center for treatment after they say he swallowed an unknown drug substance in order to conceal evidence. He was medically cleared, released from SCKMC and then taken to the county jail in Winfield, where he remains in lieu of $12,000 bond.
