Arkansas City Police arrested an Independence woman on shoplifting charges and an outside warrant. 43 year old Charity Davisson was charged with two counts of theft, and on a warrant through Montgomery County District Court. Officers answered a call from Orscheln Farm & Home on North Summit Street in Ark City, for a report of a possible theft by someone still in the store. Police arrived to find several suspects in a white Ford Taurus in the parking lot. One of them, who turnd out to be Davisson, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest from Montgomery County.
After she was arrested on that warrant, a search of the vehicle turned up evidence of shoplifting from
both that store, and also from Walmart on North Summit St. Davisson was booked into the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bond.
