More charges are piling up against an Arkansas City man already is facing charges of criminal exploitation of a child.
39 year old Stevie Austin Barnes was arrested on March 2. Since that time, additional information has been discovered, and an additional victim has also turned up. Now, charges of another charge of criminal exploitation of a child and a charge of distribution of the child exploitation have been filed against Barnes. Prosecutors say the new victim was between 14 and 18 years old when the crime was committed, and that although the victim doesn’t live in Ark City, the new charges are being filed in Ark City. Barnes meanwhile, is being held behind bars in the Cowley County Jail, in lieu of $53,000 bond. He could be facing a jail sentence of as much as 136 months in prison, a fine of $300,000 and a post-release supervision term of 24 months.
