A convicted murderer responsible for the shooting another man in Winfield back in 1993, has been denied parole for the fifth time. 47 year old Doni Hamilton was convicted of first degree murder, criminal possession of a firearm, and theft in connection with the October 1993 shooting death of Kurt Finuf. For that, he was sentenced to life in prison, plus 32 months. Hamilton became eligible for parole after serving 15 years. Hamilton was previously up for parole in 2008, 2013, 2015 and again last year… in 2017. Each time though, the Finuf family collected signatures for a petition opposing Hamilton’s release. Each time, those signatures were presented to the state parole board, and each time, parole was denied. Hamilton’s latest parole hearing was held in August. Hamilton was eligible once again for parole on September 1st. Again, his request was turned down. He will however, become eligible for parole again in October of 2020. Until then, Hamilton remains behind bars at Ellsworth Correctional Facility.
