The investigation is continuing into the shooting death New Year’s Day at Hot Shotz bar in Winfield.
Police say that while they do have the alleged shooter in custody, they are still not releasing any names while they continue to attempt to contact the family of the man who was shot to death.
Police say the shooting happened following an arguement between two men, but the root of that disagreement is still unknown.
Meanwhile, Arkansas City Police, along with laboratory workers with the Kansas Bureau of Investigations, continue to gather information, evaluate evidence, and speak with witnesses.
The suspect is scheduled to make a first appearance at 10:30 this morning in Cowley County District Court at Winfield.
Police say it happened early in the morning, around 1:15 New Years Day when nearly 150 people were inside Hot Shotz.
