Arkansas City Police arrested two people in connection with Christmas gifts that were stolen from the trunk of a car. 18 year old Kadan Armstrong is facing felony charges including burglary and theft. He was locked up in the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bond. 40 year old Shannon Clark was charged with theft. She too was locked up in the county jail in lieu of $1,000 bond, but has since posted bond and been released. Their arrests stem from an incident that happened back on December 18th, when police say they got a report of a car burglary on North A Street, where some people told them that toys being stored in the trunk to hide them from their kids ahead of Christmas, were taken when someone broke into the car. The toys were valued at $160. As they were purchased locally, police went to the store and made employees there aware of the theft, so if the items were returned for money, they would know. Sure enough, on December 27th, two items matching the description of the stolen goods were returned to the store for a refund. The suspect, was quickly identified as Clark, based on surveillance video from the store. Her arrest led police to Armstrong, and both were then taken into custody.
