Former Burden police chief Will Tatum has resigned, and is now back at work for the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy.
Cowley County Sheriff Don Read told the media that Tatum knows the community and knows local people, and he is thrilled to have Tatum back on his force again.
Tatum graduated from Central High School in 2002 and from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in 2007. He worked for the Cowley County sheriff’s office for five years, 3 1/2 of those years as a jailer and the final 1 1/2 years as a deputy. Tatum left in July of 2011 to take the position of Burden Police Chief.
