Neives in Winfield… the landmark restaurant in the downtown… served it’s final meal this weekend after 18 years in business. And the business on Saturday before they closed was indeed a landmark. The local paper reports that people even picked up their kids from school to have a chance to enjoy one final meal at their favorite Winfield Mexican restaurant. At one point, there was even a line to the front door, with people waiting to be seated, and there was reportedly a half hour wait for a table. The owners say they plan to take a little vacation for a few weeks, but they are not leaving the area. The restaurant will resurface as a catering service, and will continue to operate a food truck. The restaurant itself though, closed for the final time Saturday night at 9. Owners say they have been planning it for a couple of years, and they are happy to be able to retire while their health is good.
