Ark City Police say they put the speed trailer out in the 1100 block of N. Summit Street from April 9th to 16th. 22,038 vehicles were clocked traveling southbound 56.63% were going over 30 MPH The biggest spikes in speed happened around 11:00 AM and again between 3:00-4:00 PM (aka when school’s out and traffic picks up). Friendly reminder: Slow down and obey posted speed limits-especially during those high-traffic times. Officers will be proactively enforcing along the Summit Street corridor, with increased presence from Chestnut to Radio Lane. All traffic laws will be enforced.
