SCK Health is proud to announce it has been awarded over $2.3 million through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s (KDHE) Rural Emergency Hospital Conversion/Transformative Capital Investment Program (REH/CAP), part of the statewide Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). The award will support the continued physical transformation of SCK Health’s campus following its conversion to Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) status in 2023. Planned improvements include expanded behavioral health crisis capabilities, retention and enhancement of diagnostic and surgical services, and continued transition toward expanded outpatient-focused care.The funding is part of nearly $80 million being distributed across Kansas to strengthen and sustain rural health care services, improve access to care, and support innovative health care transformation projects throughout the state. SCK Health was selected through a competitive application process focused on community need, innovation, long-term sustainability, and alignment with state and federal rural health priorities.
