U.S.D. 470 says parents and guardians of students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 may have received a permission form for the upcoming Kansas Communities That Care (KCTC) Student Survey. The KCTC Survey helps schools better understand the factors that support student success, as well as challenges students may be facing. Questions cover topics such as school climate, connections with family and community, peer influences, substance use, and other areas related to student well-being. In Ark City Schools, this information can help guide: • Student support programs • Mental health and crisis prevention efforts • Substance use prevention education • School and community planning The data can also help schools and community organizations identify needs, build partnerships, and seek funding for programs and resources that support local students and families. Students in participating grade levels will have an opportunity to take the survey Sept. 9. 📋 If you received a permission form, please take a few minutes to review and return it.
