An upgraded power outage notification and reporting system is in the works for City of Winfield utility customers, with city officials hoping to roll it out later this month.
Winfield’s director of information systems Jerred Schmidt demonstrated the system, which will be on a platform called Outifi, to commissioners at their Thursday work session.

The system can be used to notify customer about power outages, water leaks, street closures and other incidents.
The new system will send text alerts and calls about outages to customers who have signed up to receive them. The system will include an outage map, allowing the public to see where other outages have been reported.
