A boil water advisory was issued for a portion of Sedgwick County on Wednesday.
The advisory is for a portion of the county’s Rural Water District 4 public water supply system. The affected area is south of Kellogg Avenue, from Maize Road to 295th Street.According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the advisory was put in place after a water main break caused a loss of pressure in the distribution system. If adequate pressure is not maintained, it can cause bacterial contamination.
