A recent vandalism of Flock cameras in Derby left more than half of the city’s cameras unusable, the Derby police department said during a presentation about Flock to the City Council this week.Authorities said 31-year-old Zachary Miller is charged with felonies and accused of destroying or damaging 10 of 16 Flock cameras in the south Wichita suburb, including equipment operated by a homeowner’s association in a Derby neighborhood. The cameras were worth more than $20,000.Flock cameras are automated license plate readers that police departments can use to help find suspects. Derby purchased nine cameras in 2021 and expanded to seven more cameras in 2022.
