This week, USD 470 staff, students, parents, and community members came together for our first strategic planning session, led by ESSDACK. The group reviewed feedback from our recent survey and started the important work of building the framework for USD 470’s new strategic plan. Together, they talked about the mission we want to promise our students, the vision we have for the future, the values that should guide our decisions, and the goals that deserve our focus. There were a lot of thoughtful ideas shared throughout the evening, along with respectful conversation and a real willingness to listen to different perspectives. We are grateful to everyone who gave their time and helped make the discussion so meaningful. This is just the beginning. The group will meet again to continue the conversation, identify shared priorities, and narrow the ideas that will help guide the future of USD 470.
