The City of Ark City says a little Kansas weather has caused a change of plans! Pearson Construction, LLC is now expected to begin work on the City of Arkansas City’s Madison Avenue Mill and Overlay Project on Tuesday, Oct. 20, weather permitting. The project will improve Madison Avenue between 8th Street and the Arkansas River Bridge. Work will be completed in phases, so drivers should expect temporary traffic disruptions and delays. The $273,070 project is funded primarily through the Kansas Department of Transportation, which will cover 90% of eligible construction costs. The City will cover the remaining 10% and any additional expenses.
