Ark City City Commissioners were busy during their meeting this week. The group approved ordinances prohibiting public urination and defecation, as well as unauthorized motorized vehicle use on City dikes, levees and flood-control structures. The Commission tabled a proposed ordinance prohibiting public nudity within Arkansas City. The item will be brought back for consideration at a later date. The group scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 5:30 p.m. to gather public input on proposed amendments to the City’s 2026 budget. Commissioners approved six contracts totaling approximately $168,916 for improvements to qualifying homes through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
