On the coronavirus front, there is some good news in Cowley COunty. State statistics show that COVID-19 cases locally are on the decrease. Four more positive test results were added to Cowley COunty’s numbers from the weekend, bringting the Cowley County caseload to a total of 59 since the pandemic began. However, the number of active cases has now fallen, according to state health experts. On Monday, the governor’s update showed there were just 32 active cases of COVID-19 in Cowley County right now. During the last update four days ago, that number was at 49. Only one person has died of COVID-19 related complications, and that happened in the early stages of the outbreak. South of the border, Kay COunty, Oklahoma, has 80 cases total, with 50 of those recovered and seven deaths. Osage County, Oklahoma currently has 142 cases, with 103 recoveries and 8 deaths.
