The Southwestern College theatre department will present “Antigone” on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m., in the Richardson Performing Arts Center located on the main level of the Christy Administration Building. When her dead brother is declared a traitor, his body left exposed beyond the city walls, Antigone refuses to accept this most severe of punishments. Defying her uncle King Creon, she dares to say, “No.” Forging ahead with a funeral alone, she places personal allegiance before politics, an act that triggers a cycle of destruction.
