An Arkansas City High School band camp rehearsal was held last week. It ended unfortunately, with one student testing positive for COVID-19. More than 30 students participated in the rehearsal that was held outdoors on August 11th, and as a precaution, they have all been notified. As of Tuesday, no other students reported symptoms. Now, just how band instruction will be conducted once school starts is being re-examined, but so far, the plan is to move ahead with normal instruction as safely as possible. Another rehearsal took place last night and more are scheduled before the home opener football game, that as of now is still set for September 4.
