The owner of a dog was cited by Ark City Police Tuesday night after officers say the dog bit a pedestrian along a walking trail in southwest Arkansas City. Police say just after 6pm on Tuesday, they were called out to the walking trail at Veterans Memorial Lake for a report of a dog bite. The victim… a 53-year-old Arkansas City man whose name has not been released, was found along the trail with injuries to his lower right leg. He was taken by private vehicle to South Central Kansas Medical Center for treatment. The owner of the dog remained at the scene and spoke with officers, who learned the dog was on a leash when it happened, and the owner had current proof of the dog’s vaccination. The owner was however, cited for a vicious or biting dog, but the dog was not impounded.
