The Arkansas City Police Department arrested an Ark City man on a weapon charge after a traffic stop. 36 year old Darin Pinion, is facing a felony charge of criminal possession of a firearm. Pinion was also charged with driving under the influence. He was locked up behind bars in the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $6,000 bond, which he has since posted bond and been released. His arrest came after what started out as a simple traffic stop on North C Street, where Pinion was determined to be under the
influence of alcohol and was found in illegal possession of a handgun. While he is free on bond for now, the case has been forwarded to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office for review of possible additional charges.
