The Arkansas City Police Department joined law enforcement agencies across the country in the annual Click It or Ticket campaign, conducted May 17 through June 1. During the campaign, officers increased patrol efforts throughout the community to promote seat belt use and educate motorists about the importance of buckling up to prevent serious injuries and fatalities. During the enforcement period, the Arkansas City Police Department reported the following activity: • 17 speeding citations issued • 23 seat belt violations • 2 citations for texting while driving • 37 hazardous moving violations • 43 other traffic violations • 1 arrest for driving with a suspended license
