The City of Arkansas City is asking residents and businesses to voluntarily reduce water use while we closely monitor the community’s water supply. An Enhanced Water Conservation Advisory is now in effect. This is not a water emergency. There are no mandatory restrictions, penalties or water rationing. Because the Arkansas River is currently very low, the groundwater that supplies our water system is replenishing more slowly. We are not at risk of running out of water or shutting off service. Conserving now will help protect the water stored in City tanks and keep us ahead of summer demand.
