Arkansas City Police today, continue to investigate after one person was hit by a vehicle Sunday night and taken to the hospital with injuries. It happened around 5pm Sunday in the 600 block of South C Street. Police say a woman had been underneath a pickup truck, working on the muffler, when she asked a family member to drive the vehicle forward. Instead though, the vehicle went into reverse, and ran over the woman. It then continued to back up southbound and crossed C Street, where it hit a parked vehicle. The injured woman… whose name has not been released… was rushed by ambulance to South Central Kansas Medical Center and then airlifted to a Wichita-area hospital. There has been no update on her condition.
