The Arkalalah Festival Executive Committee has announced their decision to cancel the 2020 event that had been previously scheduled for October 28th – 31st, after several event partners pulled out due to COVID-19 concerns. The committee has announced that they discovered many of the events long-standing partners would be unable to participate in this year’s event. Even the police department was having issues finding enough outside agency assistance to provide security for such a large-scale event, and local and regional food vendors had withdrawn their booths. The final straw came they say, when Evans United Shows, the group contracted to provide the carnival, withdrew. Now they say, they will be back for an even bigger and better Arkalalah next year. The 89th Annual Arkalalah Festival is now re-scheduled for October 27th – 30th, 2021.
