Ballott boxes have been made available for COwley County voters. A metal container has been installed in downtown Ark City. There is also a ballot drop box now installed outside the Cowley County Clerk’s office in Winfield. The metal boxes are clearly marked “Ballot Drop Cowley COunty,” so as not to be confused with a US Post Office letter holder. Elections officials installed the drop boxes as a way to help prevent people from having to make contact with anyone in order to slow the spread of coronaviorus. Mail ballots are expected to seriously increase this year as people choose to go that route instead of vote in person. Right now, more than 4-thousand Cowley COunty residents have requested mail ballots already. Vpoters will have until 7pm on November 3rd to deposit their ballots in one of the boxes.
