The City of Arkansas City will shift to a four-day sanitation schedule this week due to the closure of all City offices Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The Cowley County Landfill will also be closed Friday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. The F Street Limb Disposal and Compost Site will be open Saturday, Nov. 12. The joint Recycling Operations Center in Strother Field will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12. The joint recycling center will reopen for drop-offs from 8 a.m. to noon on November 18-19, 2022. Monday and Tuesday routes will be unaffected by this holiday disruption. All of Wednesday’s route and part of Thursday’s route will be collected Wednesday, Nov. 9. The remainder of Thursday’s and Friday’s routes will be collected Thursday, Nov. 10.
