The City of Ark City says F Street Bridge replacement project moved one step closer to construction at the Aug. 4 City Commission meeting. Commissioners approved a $388,803.80 bid from Kansas Concrete, LLC, of Nickerson. The project will replace the bridge on F Street just north of Tyler Avenue over the Mill Canal. The current bridge is considered deficient and needs to be replaced. The new structure will improve public safety and help maintain reliable access along F Street. On May 6, 2025, the City Commission approved an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation to help pay for the project through the Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program.
