On Tuesday, March 1, the Cowley College instrumental music department will present a jazz and concert band concert featuring music from some of the timeless composers of both genres. The jazz ensemble will perform works by Horace Silver, Lester Young, Paul Clark and Jeff Goli. The concert band will present a concert of mainly traditional English, Scottish and American folk music including “Shenandoah” by American composer Frank Ticheli, as well as “Ye Banks and Braes o’ Bonnie Doon” and “Shepherd’s Hey” by Australian born composer and folk arranger Percy Aldridge Grainger. The band will also present a more recent programmatic work titled “Apollo: Myth and Legend” by American composer and arranger Rob Romeyn. There is no cost to attend this event.
