Kansas Republican Congressman Roger Marshall was in Arkansas City last Thursday and he was in Winfield on Friday to campaign for a U.S. Senate seat. Marshall is a doctor… an OB-GYN from Great Bend. He was first elected in 2016 and represents the 1st Congressional District. His stops last week here in Cowley County included Cowley College, Southwestern College and a local co-op. Marshall told those who showed up, that his platform includes making sure Kansas has a voice on the Senate agricultural committee. He also said he wants to “stop the leftist socialist agenda.” He said his campaign is based on protecting life and preserving the 2nd Amendment. He is also in favor of securing the U.S. borders, keeping promises to veterans and appointing conservative judges, and he said health care is an important issue to him too, because as a physician, he understands health care as well as anybody does.
