Construction set to begin on North Summit Street in Ark City

The city of Ark City says construction will begin May 31st on North Summit Street as part of a street resurfacing project which is funded by a CDBG Community Facility Grant, a KDOT Cost Share Grant, and Local funds. The contractor, Pearson Construction LLC, will commence construction work May 31st from Kansas Ave. to Radio Lane. The project will consist of milling down the old surface and overlaying a new asphalt surface on this section of Summit Street, base repairs, sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter repairs, intersection repairs, and new pavement markings. During this period of construction, through traffic on Summit Street might at times be restricted to one lane, sidewalks, and avenues intersecting with Summit may be closed at times. Access to local businesses will continue to be maintained throughout the construction period.
