As of Monday, coronavirus cases reported in Kansas now number more than 23,000 and reported COVD-19-related deaths have surpassed 300. Locally, over the weekend, there were 21 new cases reported in Cowley County, bringing the total to date, to 118. The infection rate in Cowley County stands at 3.4 per 1,000 residents. As of Monday, 2,015 people had been tested in Cowley County. That means about 94% of those tested proved negative. The state Department of Health and Environment said Monday that Kansas saw total cases grow by 6.2 percent since Friday. The number of COVID-19-related deaths in the state now stands at 307.
