It was an exciting weekend for both Cowley County Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams at the NJCAA National Championship race in Fort Dodge, IA.

The Lady Tigers Team returned home as Division 2 National Champions after finishing the 5K with a 2:35 spread, and a 19:56 average. This is their second national championship. Individually, three Lady Tigers placed in the top 10, and Lubna Suied took first place with a time of 13:02.18, which was .12 of a second ahead of Sarah Bentry with North Iowa Area Community College. The two other Lady Tigers in the top ten were Zinara Lesley(7th place) with a time of 13:42.75 and Karissa Glover(9th place) with a time of 13:43.73.

The Cowley College Men’s Cross Country Team finished 3rd place overall in the 8K race. Freshman Adrian Diaz-Lopez finished in 2nd place with a time of 25:01.28 and Amos Pkiach was right behind in 3rd place with a time of 25:07.80.
