USD 465 Winfield has expanded its food distribution to the outlying areas of the district. The district had the bus drivers contact the parents of the kids on their routes to see if they wanted their kids to get meals. The response was positive, wiht most of the parents saying they were glad their children would be able to get five days of lunches and breakfasts for free, although some declined because of concerns about what might come into their house through the food delivery packages. The delivery will not be house-to-house but will be to certain designated spots where kids catch the bus during normal school times. Buses will deliver food daily to the sites.
