TOPEKA – After signing several pieces of bipartisan legislation following the conclusion of the first half of the Kansas 2021 legislative session, Governor Laura Kelly will kick off her Back to Work, Back to School tour this week with a focus on economic development. The tour will last three weeks during the Legislature’s April Break. In 2020, the Kelly Administration broke the all-time capital investment record in Kansas since the Department of Commerce was formed with over $2.5 billion in new development.
Under the Kelly Administration, Kansas has closed 331 economic development projects, worth over $4.8 billion in capital investment, and created more than 23,000 new jobs.
