After one of Winfield’s most popular races was postponed due to fears about coronavirus, hosts of the Junebug Jog transitioned to a virtual event. Runners can now participate in the 31st annual event Monday, September 21 through October 5. Registration closes October 3rd. For just $15, Junebug joggers receive a race shirt, a commemorative Junebug Jog face mask for the first 100 registrants, a digital bib, and digital finisher’s certificate. Runners of all ages have the flexibility to run anywhere. Road, trail, track, and treadmill are all options. You pick the weather, the course, and a convenient time to keep your Junebug Jog tradition going. In partnersnip with Walnut Valley Outpost, William Newton Hospital has also started a virtual challenge connecting Junebug Jog with another local race and two fitness challenges. The P3: Push, Pedal & Pace Challenge invites people of all ages and fitness levels to complete 200 pushups, 100 cycling miles, and either the Junebug Jog or Winfield Community Food Pantry Run. Registration for each of the events is now open at www.RunSignUp.com.
