Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announcing that the state will get about 63 million dollars to help Kansans who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The money coming from the FEMA Lost Wages Assiatance program. The program will only be able to help those who are receiving at least 100-dollars in unemployment benefits. The implementation of the program will take several weeks to set up, though, so Kelly is urging patience, as benefits won’t be anticipated for another couple of weeks. Claimants must certify that their unemployment is due to disruptions caused by COVID-19.
